Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, or eye lift surgery, removes the excess fat and wrinkled, drooping skin from the upper eyelids. It also eliminates bags under the eyes and tightens the skin of the lower eyelid. The surrounding fat pads can then be redistributed for a more natural and youthful appearance.

Procedure

  • By making an incision in the crease of the upper eyelid and just below the lower lid lashes, excess fat and skin can be effectively removed.
  • The muscle, fat and skin are then reshaped and repositioned.
  • This Procedure may be performed in conjunction with a Quicklift® and/or Brow Lift surgery.
  • Performed under local or general anesthesia, patients can return home the same day.

Recovery

Following the blepharoplasty, the stitches dissolve over a period of seven days. Contact lenses may be worn after one week. Some bruising may last up to two weeks and swelling may last from three to four. Exercise and sun exposure with sun screen are allowed after four weeks.

Results

A blepharoplasty enhances and restores the health, harmony, and balance of the eyelid structures.
