Blepharoplasty
This eye lift surgery procedure removes the excess fat and wrinkled, drooping skin of the upper eyelids. It also eliminates "bags" under the eyes and tightens the lower eyelid skin. The surrounding fat pads can be redistributed for a more natural, youthful appearance.
PROCEDURE
• Through an incision made in the upper lid crease and just below the lower lid lashes, excess fat and skin are removed.
• The muscle, fat and skin are then reshaped and repositioned.
• May be done in conjunction with cosmetic surgery facelift and/or brow lift surgery.
• It is performed under local or general anesthesia with return home the same day.
RECOVERY
Following the eyelid lift, stitches are removed after 4-7 days. Makeup may be used after stitches are removed and contact lenses may be worn after 1 week. Some bruising may last 2 weeks and swelling may last 3-4 weeks. Exercise and sun exposure with sun screen are allowed after 4 weeks.
RESULTS
The results of this skin care procedure are a more natural, youthful appearance. A blepharoplasty recreates the relationship of the eyelid structures.
