  • A breast lift surgery typically involves three incisions: one around the areolas, one that travels vertically from the areolas to the crease of the breast, and a final one along the breast crease.
  • The excess skin is removed and the nipple and areola are shifted to a higher position.
  • This plastic surgery Procedure takes about one to two hours and is performed under general anesthesia. Patients may return home the same day.
  • The breast lift can be performed in conjunction with breast augmentation surgery.

The bandage is removed the day after surgery and the patient is placed in a surgical bra. The surgical bra is worn full-time for three to four weeks following surgery. The stitches dissolve over the next week. Patients may experience some bruising and swelling for two to three weeks. Patients should avoid lifting anything over their heads for a few weeks. Depending on their level of activity, most patients return to work within a week.

A Mastopexy raises and firms the breasts, creating a more pleasing and youthful breast contour. Patients may also enhance their breast size at the same time with breast implants.
