Pulsed Light technology is one of the most innovative new procedures in cosmetic medicine. It uses an intense pulsed light treatment for the face and neck. It is a non-ablative photo skin rejuvenation technique used to treat areas of redness and flushing of the skin, areas of sun damage and photoaging, as well as stimulates collagen and connective tissue changes.
It can be used to diminish skin surface imperfections such as large pore size, fine wrinkles and elastic skin changes. The pulsed light simulates encourages fiber blast activity and increased collagen deposition. It can also be used to treat sun damage and weathered areas on the neck, arms and chest, as well as the back of the hands.
PROCEDURE
• During the procedure, most of the patients experience a slight pinch to their skin, similar to the snapping of a rubber band. A topical cream can be applied prior to the treatment to eliminate most discomfort.
• Pulsed light photofacial uses a machine which emits pulsed light that penetrates to all levels of the skin, causing collagen and blood vessels under the top layer to constrict.
• The regimen calls for a series of five full-face light treatments at three week intervals. Most treatments last 30-45 minutes. Our package deals also include a series of microdermabrasion treatments done in conjunction with the pulsed light photofacial. It is also great when packaged with Fractional laser resurfacing to treat fine lines, wrinkles and acne scarring.
RECOVERY
Immediately following a treatment there may be some slight reddening of the skin. Local swelling for three to five days may occur in persons with severely sun-damaged skin.
RESULTS
Pulsed light photofacial will rejuvenate the look and feel of skin by reducing fine lines, broken blood vessels, pore size, roughness, and fade age spots.
It will not get rid of deeper wrinkles or frown lines, icepick acne scars and other scars. It is often a great compliment to any facial surgical procedures such as a face lift, brow lift or eyelid surgery.
