Restylane / Perlane
Instantly smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds with Restylane®—the world's #1-selling wrinkle filler—or Perlane ®. Either can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds).
Restylane and Perlane are safe and natural cosmetic dermal fillers that restore fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. It is also used to enhance the lips.
It is the first and only cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the skin and declines as we age. Since it is made up of a substance already in the body, an allergy skin test is not required. With Restylane, you can have a natural beauty lift with the body’s own material.
PROCEDURE
• Before the injection is administered, a topical anesthetic is applied to the area to be treated. As the lips are highly sensitive, additional anesthesia may be achieved by a nerve block.
• It is an office procedure. The Restylane or Perlane gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The result is instantaneous and is gentle and safe to your skin. The session often takes less than 30 minutes, depending on the amount of correction needed.
• As the gel breaks down, water takes its place, and when totally absorbed, the Restylane or Perlane gel disappears unnoticed from the body.
RECOVERY
This skin care treatment has an immediate, visible difference in the appearance of the skin. Initial swelling and some redness usually subsides in 12 hours. Makeup may be worn the next day. Most return to work the next day.
RESULTS
The results generally last six months after lip augmentation and up to 12 months after facial contouring. How long Restylane or Perlane holds its effect depends on factors, such as age, skin type, lifestyle, and muscle activity. Many patients combine Restylane treatment with other non-invasive procedures such as Botox injections, Fractional laser resurfacing, Microdermabrasion, or chemical facial peel for a more dramatic result.
