Got Spots? Get CryoCorrect.

Stubborn age spots, sun spots and skin tags. We all have them, and most of us want to get rid of them. Meet CryoCorrect, our treatment from SkinCeuticals, to safely and effectively remove unwanted spots. Let’s talk about cryotherapy, and what to expect from a CryoCorrect treatment.

Cryotherapy uses extreme cold to target spots and skin tags. The term “cryotherapy” comes from the Greek word cryo, meaning cold. Basically, it treats skin lesions that don’t look like the normal surrounding skin. Age spots, sun spots, and skin tags are removed using a precise flow of carbon dioxide (CO2). The carbon dioxide freezes the skin at a milder temperature than traditional cryogens like liquid nitrogen, resulting in a softer, shallower, more comfortable freeze. This allows the surrounding skin to stay intact, which means a shorter period of healing for the patient. It is a highly effective treatment for a broad range of skin issues.

In a CryoCorrect treatment, the spot or skin tag is frozen quickly for about 8 seconds using the handheld device. The device resembles a pen with a tip. The treated spot will turn darker, and this color may stick around for 3 to 5 days. At that point a scab will form, then slough off in 2 to 3 weeks. Your normal healthy skin will appear. As with most procedures and treatments, each body heals uniquely so it could take up to 12 weeks. It is important to protect your skin with sunscreen, especially as it is healing. At Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery, we have a wide array of chemical and physical sunscreen products that we recommend.

Results can be seen in as little as 1 treatment, with visible improvement as early as 4 weeks. The treatment has been clinically proven to completely remove age spots and sun spots, and safe and effective for skin tags. This month only receive a free CryoCorrect Treatment with a Pulsed Light Series purchase, so this is the perfect time for you to spring-clean your skin and try CryoCorrect on us. Treatment plans vary by individual, but it can be effective to treat Pulsed Light first and then get any stubborn spots remaining with CryoCorrect.  If this spot-reducing treatment intrigues you, we’ll schedule a time for you to meet with Dr. Gregory Pisarski and the staff.
