Cryotherapy uses extreme cold to target spots and skin tags. The term “cryotherapy” comes from the Greek word cryo, meaning cold. Basically, it treats skin lesions that don’t look like the normal surrounding skin. Age spots, sun spots, and skin tags are removed using a precise flow of carbon dioxide (CO2). The carbon dioxide freezes the skin at a milder temperature than traditional cryogens like liquid nitrogen, resulting in a softer, shallower, more comfortable freeze.
